Prime League Match 2008 (Week 5) : Sengkang Punggol FC 1-2
Balestier Khalsa FC (0-1):: HOUGANG, 24 April: Ten-men Balestier Khalsa scored
a 2-1 win over Sengkang Punggol at Hougang Stadium. Megat
Hikal headed the Tigers into the lead in the 44th minute before
Muhd Al-Ameen Maricar, suspiciously in an offside position,
equalised for the Dolphins in the 52nd minute.
Tigers' coach Marko Kraljevic then sent on substitute Tian
Boon Siang for goalscorer Megat Hikal in the 64th minute.
However, a minute later, striker Muhammad Izuaan (picture)
was given a straight red for striking an opponent after referee
Ahmad A'qashah failed to blow for an initial shirt-pulling
by the Sengkang defender.
Balestier scored the winning goal in the 73rd minute. A free-kick
from Anantha Rajan, was pushed away by Sengkang keeper Ridhuan
Barudin to his right to Tian Boon Siang, who took a shot and
the ball deflected a Sengkang player and went in. But the
goal was credited by the referee to another substitute Poh
Yi Feng, who was far away from the goalmouth area, leaving
the players and officials in the Tigers camp scratching their
heads.
