YISHUN, 31 JULY: Balestier Khalsa lost 1-2 to Super Reds at Yishun Stadium. After a scoreless first half, captain Park Ki Wook put the Koreans ahead in the 49th minute from the penalty spot after Tigers' defender Sofiyan Abdul Hamid was adjudged to have committed an offence in the box. Paul Bekombo Ekollo Ntonye equalised five minutes later after a neat exchange of passes with strike partner Muhammad Izuaan. Substitute Oh Ddog Yi scored the winner in the 68th minute after the Tigers defence failed to clear the ball.

JURONG EAST, 21 JULY: Albirex Niigata won 2-0 at home to ten-men Balestier Khalsa at Jurong East Stadium.

Down to ten-men after 27 minutes when defender Farhan Musbah received his second cautionable offence (9th, 27th), chief striker Paul Bekombo had a golden opportunity in the 34th minute to put the Tigers up from the penalty mark when partner Hironori Saruta went down inside the box. However, Bekombo shot wide. On the attack at the other end, veteran striker Tetsuya Okayama shot the White Swans into the lead and increased his tally from a free-kick into first half stoppage time.

Balestier's next S-League match will be away to Super Reds FC on Thursday, 31 July at Yishun Stadium.

CHOA CHU KANG, 18 JULY: Balestier Khalsa blew away a two-goal lead at half-time and allowed SAF to steal away three points from the Tigers in the second half at Choa Chu Kang Stadium.

Balestier midfielder Faizal Amir (12th) and debutant Japanese forward Hironori Saruta (41st) gave the Tigers a dream start. However, goalkeeping blunders from Ang Bang Heng and substitute Zakaria Normat presented a brace to Aleksandar Duric (47th) and (87th). In between, the Tigers defence allowed a free header off a free-kick to John Wilkinson to score his first S-League goal of the season and the equaliser in the 77th minute.

TOA PAYOH, 16 July: Balestier Khalsa's new signing Saruta Hironori will make his S-League debut against leaders and defending champions SAF on Thursday, 17 July at Choa Chu Kang Stadium, 7.45pm. The 25-year-old forward played together with Tigers' captain Seto Haruki at YKK AP in Japan Football League in 2007.

Saruta is the direct replacement for local striker Andrew Tan Wee Tat, who has enlisted into National Service last week.

Balestier will be playing its first S-League match in 23 days.

SINGAPORE, 1 July 2008: Forward Khairul Amri has been forced to pull out of the S.League selection side for this Sunday’s Sultan of Selangor’s Cup in Shah Alam due to a hamstring injury.

Geylang United’s top goal getter with 8 goals this season, Masrezwan Masturi has been called up by S.League Selection coach V Sundram Moorthy as a replacement.
