Singapore Cup 2008 Quarter Final Round fixtures announced:: SINGAPORE, 26 June 2008: Fireworks are expected
on the 4th of July when the RHB Singapore Cup quarter-final
stage kicks off with Thailand s Tobacco Monopoly and
Singapore s Woodlands Wellington facing off at the Jurong
West stadium.
On Thursday 10 July, a mouth-watering encounter beckons as
defending RHB Singapore Cup champions SAFFC pay a visit to
Yishun to take on the Super Reds.
The Koreans will be looking to make amends in the Singapore
Cup after they lost narrowly to Gombak United in the League
Cup final.
Gombak United incidentally were knocked out by Tobacco Monopoly
in the Preliminary Round of the RHB Singapore Cup.
The other foreign representative in this years tournament,
Bangkok University , will take on the Young Lions in the first
leg on July 8 at the Jurong East stadium.
All matches in the Quarter Final Round kick off at 7.45pm
with the exception of the match between Tobacco Monopoly and
Woodlands Wellington on Friday 4 July at Jurong West Stadium
and the match between Young Lions and Bangkok University on
Friday 11 July at Jalan Besar stadium which kicks off at 7.30pm.
The quarter finals will be played over two legs and the away
goal rule does not apply.

out in the Singapore Cup after losing 2-0 to SAF. Goals from
ex-Tiger Norikazu Murakami (40th) and substitute Mustaqim
Manzur (91st+) were enough to see the Warriors through to

Balestier Khalsa FC:: TOA PAYOH, 07 May: Balestier Khalsa will meet defending
Cup holders SAFFC at Choa Chu Kang Stadium on Thursday, 8
May.
This will be the second meeting for both teams in this competition.
Back in 2005, SAF defeated Balestier 1-0 at Toa Payoh Stadium.
A headed goal by Aliimran Lomri in the 42nd minute settled
the tie.
Warriors' defender Kenji Arai will miss this match due to
suspension.

Singapore Cup 2008 Draw::
SINGAPORE, 11 April 2008: The top four clubs in the current
NTUC Income - YEO'S S-League standings were drawn in the same
half of this year's RHB Singapore Cup. The draw for the Preliminary
Round took place this afternoon at the Equinox Private Dining
Room, Level 69, Equinox Complex, Swissotel The Stamford following
the announcement of RHB Bank's renewal of their title sponsorship
of the Singapore Cup for a further three years from 2008 to

Double winners SAFFC will kick off their defence of the RHB
Singapore Cup at home to Balestier Khalsa and could face either
Super Reds or Geylang United in the quarter-finals.
Two former winners in Home United and Tampines Rovers potentially
lie await in the semi-finals after both teams were drawn to
meet in the quarter-finals if they successfully negotiate
past their respective Preliminary Round ties.
First-time participants Tobacco Monopoly from Thailand have
been handed a trip to Jurong West to take on Gombak United
in their first round tie.
Last season's 2nd runner-up Bangkok University will face
Albirex Niigata while Brunei's DPMM and Cambodia's Phnom Penh
Empire were drawn against Woodlands Wellington and the Young
Lions respectively.

Cup 2008 Draw::
SINGAPORE, 08 April 2008: The road to the 2008 RHB Singapore
Cup Final begins this Friday, 11 April with the conduct of
the official draw for the Preliminary Round.
16 teams will enter the draw aiming to claim the coveted
trophy lifted by Double Winners SAFFC last November.
Besides the 12 S.League teams, Bruneis DPMM FC, Phnom
Penh Empire from Cambodia as well as Thailands Tobacco
Monopoly and Bangkok University FC will also be in the draw.
It will be Tobacco Monopolys first participation in
the knockout competition.
